The Learning Journey to the Singapore History Museum

Hi again! Last Monday, my friends and I went for a learning jouney to the Singapore History Museum. We took the bus there and was eager to reach there. When we finally reached our destination, we saw a HUGE building! There, we received our 'Companion', a gadget which we were supposed to bring along. With the 'Companion' in hand, we went into the History Gallery and was sooooo dark. We had to walk down the spiraling path while listening to the 'Companion's' introduction. After that, we watched a short clip in a room before exiting. As we walked, I saw a Singapore Stone which had writings on it but according to the 'Companion', no one knew what it meant. There where so many things there like during the Japanese Occupation. I even saw the bicycle they used to invade Singapore, the fake jail, some pictures, a colourfully decorated furneral cart, furnitures of the past, rick shaw and a opium (a kind of drug) pipes.

Next stop, the Fashion Gallery. There were many clothes hanging on the display which was the trend at that time of the year. There were also music players for us to listen to music of that time. As we went deeper into the gallery, there was a room FULL of colourful fabrics used to make the clothes of the past!

After that, we went to the Food Gallery. There were many televisions hanging on the walls showing us how to make different kinds of food like Hinanese Chicken Rice, 'Roti Prata' and many others. A little ahead of us was a room which allows us to smell different kinds of spices. The smell was really strong!

Time passed quickly and we had to go back to school. We left the Museum and headed back to school. I think this learning journey is very important to us as we will know more about Singapore's history and culture.

Earth Hour

Hi again! On 28 March 2009 at 8.30 pm, do you know what is going to happen? Well, it Earth Hour! What is Earth Hour all about? At 8.30 pm, about 80 countries from all over the world will turn off their lights to save electricity. Even shopping centres are turning off the lights! Imagine all that electricity saved! :0
So, what shall we do in the dark? You could celebrate this exciting event with your neighbours (don't be so selfish!) or even attend the events at some places! I think Im gonna participate this event and do the world a good thing (peace around the world for generations-.-!)! Right now, our precious Earth is getting more and more damaged by pollutions (poisonous gas produced from power stations) . By participating, we can save the Earth and the climate change.
But, there are still many problems that are yet to be solved. Millions of tree are being cut down, and illegal hunting of endangered animals is countinuing. But i have came up with several ideas on how to prevent that from happening. Planting more trees can increase its population and making serious sentence for killing an endangered species so that the hunters would think thrice before hunting. Zzz... its about 8 pm now...im sooo tired.bye 4 now!

Start school later

If school starts late... its an interesting subjaect to talk about. Well, we would defintly sleep later. According to research i read from a news paper article, it would allow the brain to work 1 or 2% better (Better than nothing though...). I think it would also decrease the number of people not bringing homework (especially Hong Wei no offence)! They would have time to complete homework in the morning before going school. Since school starts early, some students would not have enough time for breakfast, which is the most important meal of the day, making them really hungry (which is of course very unhealth for the body). It can also stun his or her physical growth, making them a fatty. There are many ways, like: Make the school bigger, so the late afternoon students do not have to go bake home at about 10pm(aka one session only), more bus drivers so students would not be late or miss the bus.
In conclusion, i agree with starting school later as teachers dont have to scream at students as they are asleep in class and maybe even get good grades for PSLE. Even if i sleep late, i dont think im growing fat anyway.Tata!

The First Day Of School

Hi again!Back to (BAWRING) school...Its good to be back! The first day of school is quite ok, no homework whatsoever... a small break before all hell broke loose(just kidding...). But on the second day, homework came in piles! But i better bear it so i can do well in PSLE( my mum wants me to score about 250 plus). I guess thats about it..tata!

P5 camp

HI guys,
Remember the P5 camp?Well, this is my rating:

Good things: Good food, good place to sleep in, fun games
Bad thing(no offence instructors):Take too loooong just to start eating, have to bring our own eating utencils(is this the correct spelling?),hot weather(just blaming the weather not the camp)
So....the rating i give is..........7/10!!!! Ok lah still not bad for a strict camp but me and my friend definately had a great time there, right guys?

Racial Harmony Day

Hi everybody,wats up dude? Lol just kidding. We celebrated Racial Harmony in school.We played traditional games like pick-up sticks and so on.At recces (we got 1 hour!) time, we got to try the food too! I ate the cotton candy(Everyone wanted to have a free sample from me.....). After we went back to our classroom, we made a paper garland.It was easy to do.
I had a great time .
